John Miles has worked in conservation for most of his life, including 14 years spent at the RSPB. He has contributed to Birdwatching magazine since 1990. He has numerous books under his belt, including 14 children's books. Born in Yorkshire, John has now spent 41 years in Cumbria, 36 years of it overlooking the Gelt Valley. He is part of the team involved with 'Nature Scotland' run by his son, Ewan.
