Josephine Botting is curator, 20th century fiction, at the BFI National Archive. She has a general interest in British cinema, particularly the representation and participation of women. She has a degree and research MA in film and completed a PhD thesis in 2017 that was published by Edinburgh University Press in April 2023 as Adrian Brunel and British Cinema of the 1920s. Outside the BFI, she talks and writes about various film-related topics and contributes to extras on Blu-ray releases.
