Margarita “Maggie” Shawcross is an Assistant Professor and Teaching & Learning Librarian at the University of Northern Colorado, USA. Shawcross holds a master’s in public health from UNCO and a master’s in library and information science from the University of Denver. She worked as a health educator and later worked as a librarian in specialized health and public libraries. After overcoming barriers transitioning to academia, she mentors and supports new librarians and those moving from public to academic libraries.
