N. C. Stevens

N. C. Stevens is a freelance beverage writer. He has written for beverage and culture publications including Wine Enthusiast, SevenFifty Daily, Sprudge.com, Good Beer Hunting, Eighty Degrees Magazine, and Full Pour Magazine. He has also published with popular culture media platforms such as Atlas Obscura and Slate.com. He independently maintains a collection of over 150 self-edited blogs on beverages and drinking culture at DrinkingFolk.com, a website he built and operates himself. Stevens spent over 3 months in Mexico conducting field work in Spanish from Nuevo León to Chiapas. He collaborated with over two dozen beverage producers and vendors around the country to understand traditional and modern beverages in Mexico, all while staying with local hosts for a fully immersive experience. Additionally, Stevens has two years of experience distilling as a hobby with his brother in Massachusetts where the process is quasi-legal. He has obtained a Mixology & Bar Management Certificate approved by the state of Massachusetts. He tells people he meets during his travels that he is examining the world through the bottom of a glass.
