Biography

Noel Kelty, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Education at Oakland University in the Department of Human Development and Child Studies. She is the immediate Past President of the National Association for State Leaders in Early Education (NASLEE) and the President-Elect for Michigan’s Division for Early Childhood. A former classroom teacher, local and state educational administrator, and now teacher educator, Kelty specializes in family-school partnerships, culturally responsive pedagogy, and early literacy. Kelty’s research has been published in journals such as SAGE and Early Education and Development, and she has presented nationally on equitable family engagement practices. Kelty is passionate about transforming how educators build authentic, inclusive relationships with all families to impact learning outcomes.
