Sarah Weiss is Senior Research Scientist & Privatdozentin at the Institute for Ethnomusicology, KunstUniversität Graz, Austria. She has served on the Boards of the Society for Ethnomusicology and the Society for Asian Music. She is Series Co-editor of Graz Studies in Ethnomusicology, and serves on the Analytical Approaches to World Music Editorial Board. She is Artistic Director of Gamelan Rara Saraswati. She is author of Ritual Soundings: Women Performers and World Religions (2019) and Listening to an Earlier Java: Aesthetics, Gender and the Music of Wayang in Central Java (2007).
