Shu-mei Shih is the Irving and Jean Stone Chair in Humanities and professor of Comparative Literature, Asian Languages and Cultures, and Asian American Studies at UCLA. She also holds an honorary chair professorship at National Normal Taiwan University. She was the past president of American Comparative Literature Association (2021-2022), and her most recentwork includes “Decolonizing U.S. Comparative Literature” (2023) and a co-edited volume, Sinophone Studies across Disciplines (2024).
