Biography

At ninety-three years old, Stan is one of the founding figures of transpersonal psychology and a pioneering voice in the scientific study of consciousness. A former director of the Maimonides Dream Laboratory and longtime professor at Saybrook University, he has authored, co-authored, or edited more than 1,000 books and articles on topics ranging from shamanism and dream telepathy to humanistic psychology and cross-cultural healing. A recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology, Krippner’s work has helped shape the global contours of consciousness studies for over six decades. His memoir, A Chaotic Life, chronicles a career that has intersected with luminaries such as Abraham Maslow, Alan Watts, Ram Dass, and Maria Sabina.
