Theo Meder is a folk narrative researcher at the department of ethnology, Meertens Instituut, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and senior researcher and manager of the Dutch Folktale Database (www.verhalenbank.nl) as well as the expertise center DOC Volksverhaal for documentation and research of folktales in the Netherlands. He has published many books and articles, including several picture books of Dutch folktales.
