Tom Rice is Professor of Film Studies at the University of St Andrews, UK. He is the author of Films for the Colonies: Cinema and the Preservation of the British Empire (2019) and White Robes, Silver Screens: Movies and the Making of the Ku Klux Klan (2015). His current book project is funded by a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (2022-23), and he also holds a major AHRC-DFG award for a related European project (2025-2027) on educational filmstrips.
