Description
In this terrifying and hilarious middle grade horror novel, perfect for fans of THE LAST KIDS ON EARTH, a boy whose nightmares come to life must learn to face his fears.
You probably shouldn't read this book. Because it's going to get creepy fast. So if you're someone who talks tough but still needs a light on when you go to bed-do yourself a favor and read something else. I'm not judging you. I sleep with all the lights on. And you will too when you know what I know.
Because you know all the stuff we're afraid of? Vampires and werewolves and zombies and creepy little kids on tricycles who suck out your soul? They're real. They come for us every time we fall asleep. And the only reason they haven't gotten you yet? It's because of people like me, Finnegan Quick.
When I fall asleep, I see things. Horrible things. Monsters. And then the monsters come alive and take things. They stole my dog. They kidnapped my parents. And now they're coming for my Gran.
But I'm done letting these monsters take the people I love. I'm not hiding anymore.
This time, I'm going to fight back.

I absolutely loved this book! The level of horror is perfect for ten plus readers who want something genuinely chilling and a little bit gory. And it's balanced so well with touches of humour that feel really natural coming from such relatable and endearing characters. The plot moves at just the right pace and kept me reading from start to finish in one go. It was such a fun read, and I will be eagerly awaiting the sequel.

'Is there already such a thing as Warm-Hearted Horror? If not, then Larry Hayes may just have invented a brand-new genre. The Nightmares of Finnegan Quick is stuffed full of awesome adventure and superior supernatural chills, but it's also a wonderful story of families and friendships worth fighting for.'
Keith Gray, author of The Climbers and Creepers

'The Nightmares of Finnegan Quick is the scary, gross-out kid's adventure of your dreams, with charming characters and plenty of creepy monsters! Don't sleep on this one.'
