This series provides an opportunity for scholars to publish studies of an interpretive and conceptual nature that will make significant contributions to the field, and help to establish a sustained geographical agenda for the study of past human occupance of the earth. Works in the series are of high literary and visual quality that reflect the entire scope of the field that address topics and issues of general importance within the humanities and social sciences. Manuscripts ranging from prehistory to the twentieth century; from historical cartography to historical geography; from environmental disruption to suburbanization; and from North America to the Developing World are welcome, especially studies of a comparative or cross-cultural nature that will attract a wide readership within and outside the academic world.
